Follow your heart....

Hello to everyone in blogland again...I had a very inspiring day today thanks to Christy Tomlinson fabulous artwork and tutorials!!  I had been having some artist block and was feeling a bit dull and uninspired, until I came across some of her work.  It was enough to give me that much needed boost!   This piece has been done on a canvas board, using paper, acrylic paint, buttons, glitter glue and ink stamping.  I so love the end product!

Just a little something....

Here is one of my latest mixed media's on wood for a special little family member for a special day coming up.  I included a space for a picture as well that she can put in to remind her of some of the special moments on that day.  I really enjoyed doing this one!

Mixed Media.....

Hi all in blogland....I have been so inspired by so many peoples artwork that I have seen on the net recently.  Some of them are so talented. So in turn, they have inspired me to do the two following pieces on wood.  I have used everything from paint, to paper, texture paste, rhinestones, pastels to ink.  They can be displayed as a single piece or together horizontally or vertically in pairs.

Fire Explosion.....

This painting reminds me of an explosion of fire....I used different metallic paints to give that shiny, metallic look.  I love working with metallic paint!  Hope you enjoy it!

Fireworks......

Here is my latest piece - "Fireworks" - Large painting of acrylics on wood.  I love this one because depending on the light, the painting can change colours depending on the what angle you look at.

This is taken in bright natural lighting.

This picture is taken in artificial lighting.

Home is where the heart is.....

Yes, home is where the heart is!  I felt totally 'at home' doing this piece, of mixed media, paint, paper, pencil and pastels.  Hope you like it!

Picturesque.....

Hmmm.....if I had to picture my ideal home, it would be on a hill, looking over a beautiful field of flowers.....Thats what I had in mind when I painted this canvas of mixed media materials!  From fabric, paint, paper, buttons and rhinestones, this beautiful painting is for that precious girl in your life, that loves all things pretty!  And for all you mums, grandmas, nannas and mums to be - here's hoping you have a lovely Mothers Day today!!

Simply Divine.....

Well I have finished another mixed media canvas called Simply Divine with the lovely ladies, Veronique, Suzy and Sasha!!  Hope you like it!

If you like these and any other of my creations...You can find them mostly at

Pretty, Pretty, Pretty....

Although quite time consuming, I loved doing this particular piece.  With many stages to this piece of art (making the flowers seems to take forever!), it was great to finally actually put some paint to the canvas!  Sooo, some of the mediums I used were; beads, acrylic paints, texture paste, beads and chiffon fabric.  Hope you like it!  :)

 The flowers are individually handmade.

Redecorating....

Hi all in blogland... The other day we did some swappsing of furniture around the rooms of our house, and so therefore it freed up some wall space for some more of my canvas'.  Plus I needed to inject some colour through the room as well. (we went from a red lounge to black lounges, so it was a bit drab otherwise!).  I decided to do two paintings on either side of the large window in the room.  Both of which have the same type of design of flowers, but different sizes in canvas'.  A triptych in one, and a single in another.  Hope you like them!

I put up this photo, because the background is truer in colour, than the one above.  The photo though is a little dull and too light.
I had fun using lots of texture paint in the flowers!

The Triptych....

Lots of texture on the flowers.  Its funny, but I used the exact same colours in the single canvas, but depending on light etc, it looks as if I used completely different colours.
